Today's low-flow toilets might not produce such gag-inducing results, but a review of studies done on the topic still came to a pretty horrifying conclusion. The easiest way to curb this literal explosion of bacteria is simple: Close the lid. One study found that leaving the lid up versus down led to 12 times as much diarrhea-inducing bacterium Clostridium difficile in the air. It's really not that bad. And there you have it, folks. It takes two seconds, and you could be preventing the spread of feces to your toothbrush.
I rest my case. Type keyword s to search. You cannot present a flower to a god after having smelled it— you cannot wear shoes in a temple. Peeing, shitting, throwing up and all other activities that happen in nightclub bathrooms would also go under the category of uncleanliness.
Hinduism does not believe in eternal damnation. It has not also, conquered, traumatized and converted whole civilizations and countries as part of its mission. It does not have the same history as, for example, Christianity. Therefore the same rules that apply to Christianity simply are not applicable in Hinduism. You cannot impose your own punk and subversive cultural standards onto another religion. It is just another form of misinterpretation and desire to control something that is not yours.

Hindu, Buddhist and South Asian culture continues to constantly be exploited through Western capitalism in the name of spiritual awakening and sexual exploration. Our culture is not a ticket to your self-discovery.
The war on God goes to the bathroom
India was under colonial rule for years and I, frankly, am tired of how uneducated America seems to be about that. Tantric Buddhism is different from Hinduism and at any rate, ya got those deities wrong. I imagine that clientele is used to dining at Buddakan on a regular basis and does not even fully take in the fact that an entire ancient culture and religion is being reduced to a playscape for their vices and routine board meetings. I have spent 3 days now 4 thinking of every angle that could have led someone to make this tone deaf mistake.
The point is, no one took even a fraction of that time thinking of how it would make someone like me feel. I am going to go home to my parents house in November to celebrate Diwali, a holiday commemorating each deity featured in your bathroom. This is an active religion, practiced today. My true desire is to see the bathroom taken down.
My parents would not have had the courage to stand up for what is right, but I as their daughter, do. Your mission statement is one that touts inclusivity, positivity and safety. If you made it to the end of this letter then I thank you for being open and receptive. I am fully responsible for making the tone-deaf and completely ignorant decor choice.
I am sorry for not taking the time to fully understand and research the deep history of the culture I was inspired by before using it to decorate. I feel awful that you had to experience this type of cultural disrespect at House of Yes of all places. To be transparent, the soonest I can take it on is right after Halloween. If you insist, we can put paint over it until then. I read every word of your email twice and I wanted to thank you for taking the time, being bold yet informative in your writing and also trusting us in that you would be heard. I had broken my silence and spoken up.
And yet why did I fear her apology so much? As I sat with my son in the uncomfortable chairs with everyone else, the slow pace of things was marked by our silent surrender to the inevitability of what was going to be a long wait. My restless son, being all of five years old, helped to make things more interesting by asking me, every fifteen minutes or so when we would be called by the nurse for treatment. There are a lot of other patients who are not well. The doctors and nurses are working hard.

At some faintly hazy point during our long wait, a thought gently nudged its way into the consciousness:. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd Mt Suddenly, I understood, in a way, I never had before, what that verse meant. I got a sliver of comprehension of what Jesus must have felt to see so many in the crowds which gathered around him, who were anxious, afraid, feeling alone and weak.
Could I have imagined that day turning out the way it did? Not at all. Divine Providence does not always make a lot of human or worldly sense. It does not have to make sense for it to be right and good and exactly what it should be. Every moment, every action, every event has a purpose, sometimes logical, other times inexplicable, but always leading to the ultimate good and perfection of His plan. Whatever brought us all there, I am certain it was necessary in order to bring about a greater good somewhere somehow. I know for myself, if I was told beforehand that I would have to be sitting around waiting for our turn to be called for five hours, I would have agonized and groaned about it.

Yet, sit there we did, without knowing how long it would take, and we are not the worst for wear. I will never be able to look at people waiting in hospital for treatment or help without thinking of how Jesus would have seen them. The witness of Scripture is unanimous the solicitude of divine providence is concrete and immediate; God cares for all, from the least things to the great events of the world and its history.
Whereas we as His children fail Him many times in so many ways, He never abandons us even when we cannot comprehend why things are the way they are in our life.

It is an invitation to us to be in conversation with God, asking Him for lights to understand what we need to, and the courage to accept what we cannot grasp. Many times, we may be so wrapped up in the frustration of what we do not understand, we forget to talk to the One who has all the answers. Or maybe we talk but we forget to listen. So, back to what God was thinking, blessing our family with a house that has only one full bathroom. And it is indeed a first-class, grade A, top rate, an undeniable blessing. We are so grateful for the gift of the cute little home we have! That we are homeowners is a gift itself, something we dreamed about and aspired to during the years we were renting.
This one full bathroom we share has provided each of us with many opportunities to grow in virtues:. We continue to learn to be considerate of others and not take our time.
